Our client is looking for a Sr. Graphic Designer/Technical Illustrator for a long-term, onsite assignment beginning mid-January of 2013. Candidates with Consumer Electronics or Mobile Device experience are preferred, but not required The selected candidate will be responsible for:
Technical illustration for user documentation, including set-up guides, quick-start guides, and owner's guides.
Hardware graphics including I/O panel labeling, control surface labeling, etc.
UI visual design, including UI screen layout, icon design, font handling and widget design.
Design documentation for internal use by audiences including software development and testing, created in Word, Excel, and/or InDesign.
UI graphical asset production, including for irregular size displays (non-square pixels, etc.), icon/text optimization, etc.
UI design and production capabilities will need to support a variety of interface types, including rich on-screen displays, limited capability embedded UIs, and mobile app interfaces.
Experience with and ability to absorb and follow design guidelines and style trends as referenced from existing materials (other UIs and/or user documentation for the same product line, etc.)
Reliable and speedy turnaround to meet aggressive deliverable schedules.
Ability to proactively coordinate deliverable needs with user documentation and UI software development teams. Communication and organization skills are key.

BA or above in visual design related field preferred. Any BA or above acceptable with relevant experience and capability level.
