The role is full-time hours (Mon-Fri, 8:30am-5:30pm). The position is an hourly contract role.
The Jr Graphic Designer will report to the Creative Leader of the Design Team. The role works cooperatively with internal/external clients, as well as agencies and other members of the design team and printing staff.
This positions basic responsibilities are to design graphics and products to meet the communication goals of the company's man groups, and to serves as a member of the Design Team. Its specific responsibilities include:
? Designs graphics and products in line with corporate design guidelines, as well as the marketing plan to meet communication goal. This includes:
o Working with client to meet communications goals; establishing budget, quantities, and deadline criteria;
o Acquiring quotes for any outside art or printing services;
o Providing creative design
o Tracking budget approval and expenditures. Alerting client to potential overages and securing client approval.
o Maintaining project files
o Maintaining a high level of dedication to customer satisfaction and product quality.
? Provide mechanical art production as needed to include:
o Translating design and layout into finished piece of mechanical art for printing process.
o Following through the printing and production process, working with printers and/or vendors to assure that jobs are progressing on time on budget, and with a high standard of creative and production quality.
? Works closely and cooperatively with Corporate Design and Print Services clients.
? Maintains high level of dedication to customer satisfaction and products.
? Analyzes target audience and communication need.
? Advises and educates clients.
? Serves as producer on assigned project and adheres to project procedures.
? Assists with web graphics and design.
? Fulfills graphic requests.
? Maintains software and equipment as requested.
? Maintains archiving of creative jobs.
? Completes other tasks as assigned by the Creative Leader
Required Qualifications
Candidates MUST have a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design and a minimum of at least two years professional experience.
• Must be proficient in these graphic software applications: Quark XPress, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign, and Abode Photoshop.
• Must have a working knowledge of these graphic software applications: Adobe Acrobat, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Macromedia Fireworks, Macromedia Flash, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of printing from newsprint to full-color process.
• Must have experience in virtually every aspect of the visual mass communications field, including print, exhibits, text, graphics, video and web.
• Must be able to take projects from conceptualization, to design production and fulfillment on time and within budget.
• Must be knowledgeable about appropriate computer equipment and design software.
• Must have good marketing and communication skills.
• Must have a good working relationship with clients, printers, and vendors.
• Must have excellent communication skills that guarantee effective oral, written, face-to-face and digital communication to various constituent groups.
