Our client is looking for a Usability/User Research Specialist to join their UX team for a long-term consulting opportunity.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Ability to work with internal clients to understand business objectives, identify when user and design research should be conducted, and determine appropriate research methods.
  • Develop and deploy research plan, including participant recruitment, testing logistics and protocol. Conduct and manage testing; conduct data processing and analysis.
  • Analyze usability test results and author detailed reports with recommendations; deliver results of user research and testing to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Be a strong advocate for user design research; ensure high research standards and rigor.
  • Collaborate with project teams, marketing and research departments to carry out business objectives.
  • Identify and evaluate new research techniques and tools; share with colleagues.


  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as human factors/ergonomics, cognitive psychology or human-computer interaction; Master’s degree a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the fields of usability and user research.
  • Experience using various methodologies for uncovering and evaluating user needs and interactions, including heuristic evaluation, concept evaluation, usability testing, and ethnography.
  • Experience using a variety of research techniques, including one-on-one and small group interviews, surveys, online moderation, in-the-field observation, etc.
  • Understanding of software and consumer electronics technologies, and conducting usability evaluations for consumer electronics.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate both conceptual and tactical concepts and author detailed research and usability reports.
  • Strong, collaborative, interpersonal work style; ability to manage the needs of various internal clients.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, ensuring projects are successfully completed on time and on budget.
