64997 - Visual Designer/Infographics Specialist

Aquent has an exiciting opportunity with a top Ecommerce Company for a proactive Visual Designer with a focus in Infographics and Data Visualization. The selected candidate will create compelling and engaging web interfaces, as well as integrating visualizations of data in a simple, creative, and stimulating manner. This designer will help the client evolve their site to the next level of quality and innovation, while applying current standards to deliver a consistent site experience. The successful Visual Designer thinks strategically, is flexible, and executes with an eye to detail at the pixel level. This person is also able to multitask and interact with a multidisciplinary team. This designer will help evolve a current interface presenting data that is most relevant to end consumers, providing multiple options and design treatments. The successful candidate will design Infographics and Data Visualization considering technology constraints and feasibility of the design vision. Responsibilities
• Conceptualize and design web interfaces and data visualization concepts that successfully translate business goals and requirements
• Work with Interaction Designers, copywriters, Product Managers, and Marketing team members to understand project needs, and to implement successfully the brand
• Work with IT to assure deployment and appropriate implementation of products that are true to original design intent
• Proactively contribute to an open and productive atmosphere within the design team
• Prepare estimates, plan schedules and create comps
• Champion design rationale when presenting to internal clients and project team members
• Adhere to the company visual design standards and branding guidelines in order to maintain consistency and quality across applications and products
• Attend design reviews and Usability testing to iterate designs

Qualifications:
• 6+ years’ experience designing web interfaces with emphasis in visual design
• Demonstrated experience applying design expertise to the depiction of complex data, as demonstrated by an extensive portfolio of data visualization and other relevant work
• Extensive experience working in a team-based iterative design environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience working in emerging platform projects (mobile, tablets) as well as solid understanding of technology implications in web and portable devices
• Proven skills to balancing multiple projects concurrently
• Solid understanding of graphic design principles and best practices for interactive and web based design
• Proactive work style, consensus-building teamwork and productive collaboration skills
• Adobe software proficiency expected, (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash)
• Experience translating wireframes into successful Visual Design
• Presentation, prototyping, Visio, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, MS Project skills a plus
• Good prioritization, planning and time management skills
• Attention to detail and follow through
• Online portfolio for consideration is a must
• Bachelor’s Degree is required. A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Design, Computer Graphics, Digital Media Design or other visual arts is highly preferred.
