Aquent is seeking a Technical Administrator to be part of a larger team to maintain, monitor and support the infrastructure for selected enterprise tools for maximum availability, at minimum cost and optimizing performance in a complex environment.

This will be a 1+ year contract with the potential for extension for the right candidate.

Required Qualifications

The candidate will work in the Enterprise Tools team supporting the infrastructure for 30+ tools. Strong Unix/Windows skills required to manage and maintain the infrastructure these tools require.

The qualified individual needs to be able to take 3rd party tools and install them on existing infrastructure ensuring they work within a Unix/Windows environment. Must understand how the Operating Systems work and be able to review logs to troubleshoot issues.


Specific job responsibilities:

Perform administrative functions:
Perform server and tool administrative tasks.
Maintain administrative jobs.
Administer security.
Maintain server/tool configuration.
Collaborate with other infrastructure teams on shared components or integration points.
Perform tasks and supply input to environment upgrade activities.
Document and schedule updates through the change management process.
Identify improvement opportunities.
Serve as a resource on tool specific projects.

Monitor and support:
Monitor and address availability of the environment - software tools and hardware.
Monitor and maintain environment processes
Assist unit help desk, support owners, developers, and other support resources with problem resolution.
Respond to and supply updates to requests and problems using defined process and tools.
Provide on-call and after-hours support as defined by service level agreement. Some support is defined as 24x7.
Assist development teams with implementations and deployments as specified.
Identify support process improvement opportunities.
Supply regular updates and communication to stakeholders.

General:
Information sharing (problem investigation, resolution, documentation, etc) with team members.
Ability to be a team player with an understanding of customer?s requirements and time commitments.
Perform other activities as directed by management.


Qualifications
Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Required background:
Unix (AIX,Solaris)
Windows 2000 and 2003
Linux (Red Hat)
Web Server Administration including but not limited to Iplanet, Apache Tomcat
Scripting
Understanding of computer technology, methodology and the full life-cycle software development methodology.
Excellent analysis and problem solving skills.
Strong communications skills ? written and verbal.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team structure, including sharing of knowledge and
communication.
Creative problem solving skills, positive attitude, and willingness to assume responsibility.
High level of job responsiveness and attention to detail.
