65434 - Jr to Mid-level Web Designer

We are in search of a Web Designer (1-3 years professional experience) to provide assistance for the fashion accessories and beauty division for Macys.com. This candidate will conceptualize and execute designs for homepage and email campaigns, special events mini-sites, and special seasonal/brand shops..

Length: 6 months (possibility to extend)
Location: Onsite only, at Macy’s headquarters in NYC
Compensation: approx.: $38K annually plus Health, Vision and Dental benefits

Key Accountabilities:
- Continue to elevate the design aesthetic on macys.com while maintaining alignment with national brand.
- Interface with project managers and coders to deliver work on schedule.
- This role will not require art direction or concepting – all assets, images and copy will be given to you for each project and you will need to aesthetically lay them out within brand or vendor guidelines.
-Timing, a fashionable aesthetic and a keen eye for pixilation are incredibly important in this role.

Requirements:
- 1-3 years of web design experience is required.
- A polished portfolio of your past work that is clean and uncluttered (heads up that the manager has an eagle-eye for catching pixelation)
- Experience designing for a major fashion or beauty brand is an absolute, non-negotiable requirement.
- Proficiency in PhotoShop and Illustrator on Mac platform.
- Bachelor's Degree (or comparable work experience).
- Ability to meet tight deadlines, while working both independently and as part of a team. (This isn’t fluff. Pages change multiple times daily)
- Retail or E-commerce knowledge is a plus.
- The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking direction. They can work independently when given Creative direction and brand guidelines
